Ingush MIA: hospital evacuation in Nazran was caused by threat of terror act

The republic's MIA has confirmed that the evacuation of the Ingushetian Republic's Clinical Hospital (IRCH) in Nazran was not an exercise, but a reaction of power agents to real information about a prepared explosion with participation of a woman-suicide bomber.

As reported earlier by the "Caucasian Knot", on August 21, the MIA of Ingushetia already reported that an unknown person had called the city militia department and said that a suicide bomber had penetrated to the territory of the hospital aiming to commit a terror act there. The hospital was evacuated; however, later, Valery Zhirnov, acting Minister of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia said that employees of law enforcement bodies of Ingushetia held their exercises in the territory of the IRCH, and there was no real terrorist threat.

According to the latest data from the MIA's press service, the information about a possible terror act arrived from hospital patients. "Indeed, we received information that a suicide bomber was really present in the building. Many patients saw a suspicious girl of 14-15, dressed in hijab and with an inadequate look and strange behaviour; and they addressed the militia," said the press service.

The MIA's statement runs that the evacuation decision was made according to the principle: "it is better to overestimate the situation, than underestimate it."

The MIA has also reported that the trial alarm was announced in order not to admit panic among local population. The MIA has apologized "for delivered inconveniences."
