In the wake of Nazran terror act, Evkurov accuses his officials of criminal negligence

President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov has accused, in his video address to the Ingush people, his officials of negligence and irresponsibility, which led to the terror act at the Nazran ROVD building.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that law enforcement bodies had known in advance about the prepared terror act; however, they could not prevent it. The blunder of law enforcers resulted in subsequent sacking of Interior Minister and "purging" of the militia, as decided by President of Russia Dmitri Medvedev.

According to Mr Evkurov, his subordinates are guilty of "non-taking elementary measures and acting under a traditional scenario - maybe everything will be OK."

"Today, the Prosecutor's Office and ICPO have a clear mission - to initiate a criminal case against those guilty, and I'll keep it under my personal control," President of Ingushetia has stated.

The "Interfax" reports that in his address the President appealed to young citizens of Ingushetia. "Among those, who commit acts of terror, there are no relatives of bandit leaders. I've never heard Maskhadov's, Basaev's or Doku Umarov's sons commit a terror act or become a suicide bomber," Mr Evkurov said. "They're all abroad, nicely settled and have no need to run in forests and kill their compatriots."

He has expressed hope that "the young men who took the course, for their inexperience and ignorance, of committing crimes against their compatriots and brothers, will change their mind" and re-iterated what he had said earlier: for those who repent and take the course of peaceful life "the road is opened", otherwise, they will be liquidated.
