Amerkhanov is the third high-ranking official of Ingushetia killed in summer of 2009

Ruslan Amerkhanov, Minister of Construction of Ingushetia, shot dead on August 12 in his study in the city of Magas, is already the third high-ranking official of Ingushetia killed during this summer.

Let us remind you that on June 13 Bashir Aushev, former Interior Minister of Ingushetia, and employee of the Government, was shot dead. On June 10, unknown persons fatally wounded Aza Gazgireeva, Deputy Chair of the Supreme Court of Ingushetia.

Ruslan Amerkhanov was appointed to the post of the Minister of Construction in the end of last November. According to Kaloy Akhilgov, press secretary of President of Ingushetia, believes that the murder may have to do with the Minister's position of principle in relation to construction of these or those objects. "Militants have nothing to do with it," he said.

The "Gazeta.Ru" quotes a source from the ICPO for Ingushetia who believes that "inspectors are too in a hurry", stating that the version of professional reasons of the Minister's murder is the main one. "He was killed in his service study, naturally, it is one of the versions, but neither I nor other inspectors can now assert anything."

According to Magomed Khazbiev, an Ingush oppositionist, who personally knew Amerkhanov, the victim was one of those few officials, who were in their adequately place in Evkurov's government.

"I don't know who could benefit from this crime. Here, we just have a war; it's incessant; and nobody wants to stop it. It's a civil war; and it's no longer clear who shoots at whom," Mr Khazbiev said in his interview to Radio Liberty.

Let us note that right after appointment to the post of the Minister of Construction last autumn, Mr Amerkhanov at once launched his war against corruption in the construction sphere. This was reported by Musa Pliev, former Ingush oppositionist and nowadays adviser of President Evkurov.

"Amerkhanov was the noblest person in this government. He was just a unique man - both as a manager and as an employee, and in general. The person who nicely dealt with people. In general, I exclude the version of any revenge," said Mr Pliev.
