Murdered resident of Chechnya announced to be a militant, was earlier kidnapped from his house

According to residents of the Staropromyslovskiy District of Chechen capital, the young man, whom power agents announced as liquidated militant, was earlier kidnapped by them from his apartment in Grozny.

One of the three men killed by militiamen in the Shali District of Chechnya in the morning on July 12 had been abducted by them on the eve of the execution from his apartment in settlement Tashkala, Staropromyslovskiy District of Grozny. The car VAZ-2109, in which the suspected militants were executed, belonged to him. This version was reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by residents of Grozny.

"I can't say anything about the two other casualties killed in the morning on July 12 in the Shali District, but the driver of the 'Zhiguli' car, in which they were executed, hardly was a militant. On the eve of the incident he was taken away by militiamen who also hijacked his car. In the evening of the following day he was demonstrated on TV as a murdered militant. It's just complete arbitrariness and terror against people," said Adlan, a resident of the Staropromyslovskiy District.

Another local resident, named Salambek, a member of one of local NGOs, also knows about this case. "The whole settlement is talking that this guy was first taken away by some local power agents and then shown as a militant killed in a skirmish," he said. "Our militiamen are paid bonuses for every murdered militant; they are awarded new ranks and positions. Ramzan Kadyrov often presents cars to those who participated in liquidation of this or that militant."

The office of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" in Grozny reports that they have no reliable data about this incident yet, but they are going to verify this information.

Representatives of law enforcement bodies of Chechnya have refused to give any comments to this end or give the names of the militants liquidated in the Shali District to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
