Elborus District of Kabardino-Balkaria is under CTO regime

Within the territory of nine settlements of the Elborus District of Kabardino-Balkaria - Tyrnyauz, Kendelen, Bedyk, Bylym, Tegenekli, Terskol, Elborus, Neitrino and Verkhni Baksan - today, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced.

The aim of the operation is not to admit any subversive and terrorist acts, and to make search of IAF (illegal armed formation) members. This was reported by Natalia Borovinskaya, spokesperson of the press service of the FSB Department for Kabardino-Balkaria.

According to law enforcement bodies, IAF members announced into search are hiding in the territory of the Elborus District. The CTO regime in this district has no final date.
