Chechen woman suspected of kidnapping "Rosneft" vice-president's son arrested

The Zamoskvoretskiy Court of Moscow has sanctioned arrest of Zarema Dadaeva, 34, a native of Grozny, who was detained in Moscow on June 18 as a suspect of kidnapping the son of vice-president of the "Rosneft" Mikhail Stavskiy.

"The judge has decided to put Dadaeva in custody," the "Pravda.ru" quotes Anna Usachova, head of Moscow City Court's press service.

Pavel Levsun, advocate of the detainee, has stated, in his turn, that there are no evidences of his client's guilt of the incriminated crime. "She never saw the victim and rejects and rejects any guilt," the "Vesti" quotes the lawyer.

Mr Levsun said that no identification by Stavskiy of the woman was made so far. Within three days, he will appeal against the arrest decision at the Moscow City Court. The "Gazeta.Ru" writes that no charge was presented to Dadaeva so far.

The son of Mikhail Stavskiy, vice-president of "Rosneft", a boy of 17, was kidnapped on April 13, 2009 in Moscow. On June 18, as a result of a joint operation of inspectors and employees of the Department of Criminal Search of Russian MIA he was freed.

The materials of the case say that young Stavskiy was chained to heating pipes and threatened with a subject that look like a pistol. Inspectors think that Dadaeva was in charge of "supporting him alive." They also tend to believe that the kidnapping was dictated by suspects' lucrative impulse.
