Extrajudicial executions of two women are investigated in Chechnya

In the last four days in Chechnya, two young women were assassinated by unknown persons. Inspectors now try to establish the motives and find the killers.

The first crime was committed at night on June 8 in Savelevskaya village, Shelkovskoy District. "A group of up to 15 armed persons arrived to the village in several cars, rushed into the house of a local resident and shot dead the guest, a woman-resident of Bachi-Yurt village of Kurchaloy District, aged 31. According to available data, the casualty had arrived to Savelevskaya to get treated by the local folk healer," a source from law enforcement bodies of the republic said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The second murder was committed at night on June 8. "In Adderoy village, Kurchaloy District, an unidentified criminal, having broken the entrance door, rushed into one of private households and shot dead a young woman, a daughter of the hostess aged 33. In both cases the killers disappeared. Currently, inspectors try to find out the motives of these crimes, and establish and detain the persons involved in these extrajudicial executions," said the source.

He could not exclude that both murders could be linked together. "The casualties were jobless, and both lived in the Kurchaloy District," said the source.
