Criminal case opened in Dagestan against militiaman accused of murdering pregnant woman

On May 21, Usman Amaev, Senior Inspector of Russian Prosecutor's Office for Dagestan, signed a statement to open a criminal case against a militiaman on the fact of injuring Gasan Baisultanov, a resident of Khasavyurt, and murdering his wife Saniyat Magomedova, who was in her fourth month of pregnancy.

Gasan Baisultanov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that charges can be presented to Satiraev, a militiaman of the Kazbek ROVD, who was engaged, together with his colleagues, on November 3, 2006, participated in a special operation in Khasavyurt at No. 83 Schorsa Street, where the victim and his wife lived.

On February 5, 2009, Saidula Batdalov, head of the Investigatory Division for Dagestan of the Prosecutor's Office of Russia, ordered Usman Amaev, Senior Inspector for Dagestan of the Prosecutor's Office of Russia, to hold an additional check with interrogation of victims and militiamen, studying the criminal case files related to Gasan Baisultanov's conviction by the Supreme Court of Dagestan and the conclusion of the MIA of Dagestan about the service investigation concerning employees of the Kazbek ROVD.

According to Mamatkhan Baisultanov, victim's father, none of the points has ever been fulfilled.

On March 19, Gasan Baisultanov applied for help to Amir Amiriliev, Deputy of Russian State Duma from Dagestan, who write a letter to Igor Tkachov, Public Prosecutor of Dagestan. Only then, Amaev signed a decision to open a criminal case. Gasan and Mamatkhan Baisultanovs believe that Amaev will keep protracting, but they are ready to address other instances either.

The Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the case was transferred to the Khasavyurt Prosecutor's Office, and Amaev refused to give any comments.
