Azerbaijani police interferes with students' protest against terrorism

In the evening on May 4, policemen and persons in civilian clothes tore down posters of protest against terrorism, attached by students near the place, where massacre was committed on April 30.

After removing posters, policemen also took away flowers and candles placed by students in commemoration of the casualties. No explanations were given. In total, policemen destroyed some hundred posters, attached in protest against terror and appeals to punish the culprits.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent failed to receive any comments either at the ASOA administration, or at city's police, or at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Azerbaijan.

Several students, who wished to remain anonymous, said that a group of young men was invited to the police, where they were asked for explanations in the context of their appeals to refuse from holding the Flower Feast in Baku which is organized annually on May 10 by the Mayoralty of the capital. Young men could leave the police station only after they wrote explanatory reports.
