Yerevan starts agitation campaign towards Mayor election

Today is the official start of the pre-election agitation campaign for the Mayor and Board of Elders of the capital of Armenia; the elections will take place on May 31.

A specificity of the forthcoming Yerevan Mayor's election is that it will be the first in the newest history of Armenia to be held exclusively under party's lists.

The election of Yerevan Mayor will be held by proportional lists of the four parties forming the ruling coalition: "Flourishing Armenia", ARFD, Republican Party of Armenia and "Country of Law". Among the participants are also the oppositional Armenian National Congress, which unites 18 parties, and the National and Labour Socialist Parties.
