On the Memory and Sorrow Day of the Chechen People marked on the anniversary of the funeral of Akhmat Kadyrov, the first republic's president was commemorated in Chechnya. Earlier, local residents complained that they were not ready to combine the Sorrow Day with mourning for Akhmat Kadyrov, and that they were forced to participate in commemorative events and rituals.

The court has sentenced Nikita Botberg, a Sochi resident, to five days of administrative arrest for disobeying policemen. A protocol was also drawn up against him on discrediting the Russian Army during the "Immortal Regiment" march.

On May 9, participants of regular actions in support of Abdulmumin Gadjiev, a journalist of the weekly newspaper “Chernovik” (Rough Draft), moved the picket location to another district of Makhachkala because of the celebration of Victory Day.
