Anthrax focus liquidated in Krasnodar Territory
As reported today by the territorial department of the "Rospotrebnadzor", all the preventive and anti-epidemiological measures have been completed in the Beloglinskiy District of the Krasnodar Territory, where after September 19, cases of anthrax (Siberian plague) in animals were revealed in one of the farms.

Sappers from Russia's MfE defused about 100 explosive items in Chechnya
Specialists from the "Leader" Centre for High Risk Rescue Operations of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) of Russia continue their work in the territory of the state farm "Zarya" in the Grozny District of Chechnya. In the near future the sappers hope to de-mine around ten hectares of agricultural lands of this state farms.

Kati Marton: Chairman of the Russian Supreme Court believes Kadyrov's suing Orlov was a mistake
Vyacheslav Lebedev, Chairman of the Supreme Court, said that the litigation initiated by the Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov against Oleg Orlov, head of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", was a mistake. 170 people detained in Georgia for suspicion of financial fraud
On October, 5, law enforcement bodies in Georgia detained the leaders of an importer company "Trans-Cargo" and the personnel of shopping centers "Kidobani" and "Passage", their total number comes to about 170 people. The mass detention was reported by Investigation service of the Ministry of finance of the country.

The Observatory for Protection of Human Rights Defenders has released its Annual Report for 2010 "Adamant in Protest". The report, partially translated into Russian, covers the struggle for human rights around the world throughout the year. Attacker in Nalchik hippodrome assassinated, ICPO reports
The terrorist who had planted a bomb, which was triggered on May 1 in the hippodrome in the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, was killed on August 28 in Nalchik as a result of a special operation, said Vladimir Markin, spokesman of the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of the Russian Federation.

NAC: Yusupov, liquidated in special operation in Makhachkala was involved in a series of murders

In Ingushetia, human rights defender Mutsolgov is afraid of provocations following threats
An anonymous letter was placed on one of Ingush websites published an anonymous letter, stating a threat to the life of Magomed Mutsolgov, head of the Ingush human rights organization "Mashr" from President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov. Kaloi Akhilgov, Mr Evkurov's press secretary, treated the letter as "a raving." Mutsolgov himself says that he does not believe in reality of the threats, but does not rule out possible provocations against him and Evkurov.

Female tourist perished in mountains of Karachai-Circassia
Two women fell down from the ropeway in the resort village of Dombay in Karachai-Circassia. One of them died, the other was seriously injured. The accident happened on October 2, and on October 4 it became known that one of the tourists - Olga Lyubimova, 40, a resident of the city of Elektrostal, Moscow Region, died from received traumas.
