Residents of Southern Russia pay tribute to victims of fire in Kemerovo
In Southern Russia, a number of cities held mourning events to pay tribute to the victims of the fire in the shopping centre "Winter Cherry" in Kemerovo. Residents of Makhachkala, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi, and Cherkessk have reported to the "Caucasian Knot" that they are afraid to visit large shopping centres. They have also called on to punish the persons guilty of the deaths of the people.

North-Ossetian residents equate Kemerovo tragedy to Beslan terror act
Today, at the Glory Memorial, residents of Vladikavkaz have commemorated those who perished in the fire of the Kemerovo "Zimnyaya Vishnya" (Winter Cherry) Shopping Centre; and on March 26, a mourning action "Memory Candle" was held at School No. 1 of Beslan. Speaking about the tragedy in Kemerovo, local residents equated it with what happened during the terror act in Beslan.

Advocate complains about GPO's inaction after torture of Nardaran believers
The Azerbaijani General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) has refused to open criminal cases on facts of torture of two convicts in the "Nardaran case", and failed to provide the defence with refusal statements, said Yalchin Imanov, one of the advocates, adding that he has filed a lawsuit against the GPO.

Astrakhan residents demand resignation of Kemerovo Region's Governor
More than 40 people came to the Astrakhan Hyde Park to hold a rally demanding resignation of Aman Tuleev, the Governor of the Kemerovo Region, after the tragedy that occurred in the regional capital. Other residents of Astrakhan laid flowers at the monument "Family" in memory of those who perished in the fire.

Holiday of Balkar People's Revival Day postponed after tragedy in Kemerovo

Two defendants accused of attacking "Caucasian Knot" correspondent to be jailed
Today, in Rostov-on-Don, the court has recognized four defendants guilty of involvement in the beating of Vladislav Ryazantsev, a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. Two of them were sentenced to imprisonment, while the rest were sentenced to punishment not related to deprivation of liberty.
