CoE calls on Azerbaijan to complete anti-corruption reform

Native of Chechnya convicted for financing terrorism after sending money to his brother

Statement on suspending demarcation of Dagestani borders raises questions to Kremlin
The office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary in the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) has refused to comment on the statement voiced by Khizri Shikhsaidov, Speaker of the People's Assembly of Dagestan, about the suspension of the demarcation of land between Dagestan and Chechnya. Journalist Maxim Shevchenko sees no logic in the speech delivered by Khizri Shikhsaidov on behalf of Alexander Matovnikov. The Kremlin is trying to smooth out the consequences of the conflict in Kizlyar, suggests political analyst Dmitry Oreshkin.

Two natives of Dagestan detained in case on financing IS*
In Moscow and the Moscow Region, law enforcers detained two natives of Dagestan, suspected of transferring money to terrorists. Searches at homes of Dagestani natives are being carried out in seven regions, including Dagestan, the Stavropol Territory, and the Astrakhan Region, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports.

Relatives report disappearance of Dagestani resident after law enforcers' visit
The whereabouts of Ali Aliomarov, a resident of Dagestan, remains unknown after Moscow law enforcers had searched an apartment rented by him. This has been reported today by relatives of the disappeared man.

Woman from North Ossetia fined for video with firing in police uniform

The defence of Abdulmumin Gadjiev, Kemal Tambiev and Abubakar Rizvanov, who were arrested for two months within the case of financing terrorism, intends to appeal against their arrest. Gadjiev has called the evidence of the guilt "invented"; Tambiev stated an attempt to hide the fact of his beating; and Rizvanov complained of moral pressure.

Head of Krasnodar criminal search testifies in favour of Benyash
The policemen, who had accused the lawyer Mikhail Benyash of beating them, had no noticeable injuries after the conflict with him, Sergei Sakhno, the head of the Krasnodar criminal search division, has stated to the court. Rostov court sentences five defendants in Hizb ut-Tahrir* case to long imprisonment terms
Today, the North-Caucasian District Military Court has announced a guilty verdict against residents of Crimea who were accused of involvement in the organization Hizb ut-Tahrir, recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia by the court.
