Valery Yevnevich is on working trip to sub-units of peacekeepers in Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone

Russian Land Forces Deputy Commander-in-Chief on Peacekeeping Operations Lieutenant-General Valery Yevnevich is on the working trip to sub-units of the CIS Group of Peacekeeping Forces (GPF) in the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone. Spokesman for the Peacekeeping Forces Sergey Melichenko reported it to the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot". According to his words, Valery Yevnevich is a head of the commission for the CIS GPF alert readiness control. The commission checks the organization of everyday activity, readiness of the CIS GPF units in the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone to the fulfillment of the peacekeeping mission they are entrusted with.

  • Court releases Malgobek law enforcers accused of extortion

    Three policemen from Ingushetia, accused of using violence against a detainee and extortion, have been released. The Supreme Court (SC) of Ingushetia has explained that the period specified by law for the preliminary investigation had expired and their further detention is illegal.
