Alan Chochiev's house attacked in North Ossetia

On August 1, approximately at 22:00, the house of Аlan Chochiev, a well-known political observer, expert, doctor of sciences (history), occurred in North Ossetia. There were no victims among his relatives.
"Two armed persons wearing masks stormed into our house. They were looking for Alan, but only the mother and two grand-children were at home. They searched the house, passed through the tent, checked the basement and, having not found him, they left. Alan has been away for more than a week now ", relayed Aza, Alan Chochiev's sister, to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Aza herself was out at the time, and she knows about the events from her mother. According to Aza, the criminals stormed into the house by a ladder which they propped agaist the window. "Not having found Alan, they started asking the grandson about his whereabouts, pointing a pistol at him. The boy is only 13 ", she said.

After the incident, the A.Chochiev's relatives called for militia. The law enforcement officers took fingerprints from the window sill and questioned the political observer's grandchildren. Aza, A.Chochiev's sister, referring to her mother,  said that the attackers were talking with a "southern accent" and, possibly, were residents of South Ossetia.

According to Aza, Chochiev's relatives do not know about Alan's whereabouts and are not able to inform him on the incident.
Previously, the activity of Alan Chochiev repeatedly caused dissatisfaction of the authorities. In November 2006, representatives of North Ossetia MoI tried to get him for interrogation. At that time Chochiev himself connected this with the election and referendum in South Ossetia in the course of which 99% voters were for the SO independence and Eduard Kokoity was elected its president. Prior to that, Chochiev had written that the referendum was illegitimate.

In 1989-1992, professor Chochiev was first deputy chair of the Supreme Council of South Ossetia.
