Tumso Abdurakhmanov* spoke about his discharge from the hospital
Opposition blogger from Chechnya Tumso Abdurakhmanov*, living in Sweden, informed his subscribers about his discharge from the hospital. He detailed his condition and experience in the clinic.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on October 18, his Telegram channel announced that critic of the Chechen authorities Tumso Abdurakhmanov* was in the hospital. The blogger underwent surgery to remove a kidney stone, but "the postoperative recovery did not go as planned," his relatives reported.
On the evening of October 21, Tumso Abdurakhmanov* published a video announcing his discharge on his YouTube channel. "I am being discharged from the hospital today," he said in a recording made while still in the hospital ward.
According to the blogger, he experienced his first attack of renal colic about two months earlier. The doctors then warned him about the presence of another stone in his kidney and the possibility of a repeated attack. "At that time, they just let me go – they said the stone was small, it should pass on its own," he explained, adding that the first painful attack lasted a total of three days.
The second attack, according to Abdurakhmanov*, began while he was driving. The blogger headed to the hospital, where he remained – the doctors decided to remove the stone surgically. The next day, the blogger underwent surgery and asked to be discharged home, as he felt well.
"That was my fatal mistake. Remember, never go home after surgery. After surgery, you will likely feel well, but that’s the effect of anesthesia," he explained.
On the morning of the next day, Tumso* felt severe pain again, "as if the stone had not been removed." After several days of taking strong painkillers, he was readmitted to the hospital with suspected infectious postoperative complications. Subsequent tests showed that the inflammation was not related to an infection, but the blogger still had to stay for treatment in the clinic until his discharge.
"They said that attacks would still occur periodically," he said, adding that he was prescribed strong medications. After that, the blogger showed his single room with a separate bathroom and the conditions in the hospital: five meals a day, the ability to eat at any time, and the possibility of visits around the clock. "There are absolutely no questions regarding the attitude towards you," assured Abdurakhmanov*.
In the past, Tumso* had disappeared from the internet for a while amid reports of his alleged murder, which were neither confirmed nor denied by his relatives, the Swedish police, or the Chechen authorities. On February 21, 2023, he himself denied the version of his death. On April 16, 2023, Tumso Abdurakhmanov* detailed the assassination attempt being prepared against him, the customers and executors, and the preparation of a staged death. Information about Tumso's "murder" is compiled in the report by the "Caucasian Knot" "The Version of Tumso's Murder: For and Against".
Previously, Abdurakhmanov regularly criticized Ramzan Kadyrov and his entourage and himself became the target of criticism from the Chechen authorities. Materials about Tumso Abdurakhmanov's confrontation with the Chechen authorities are collected by the "Caucasian Knot" on the thematic page "Tumso Against Kadyrovites".
