The Botlikh District Court sentenced an entrepreneur to 200 hours of compulsory work for grossly violating safety requirements while operating a gas station.

The Botlikh District Court established that the businessman grossly violated mandatory industrial and fire safety requirements when selling liquefied hydrocarbon fuel at the gas station.

The violations posed a threat to the life and health of customers and staff, writes RIA "Dagestan" on October 5.

In court, the businessman admitted his guilt. The court imposed a sentence of 200 hours of compulsory work.

Recall that, as reported by "Caucasian Knot", against the backdrop of a fuel crisis in Dagestan, the operation of several gas stations in Makhachkala and Kaspiysk was suspended due to identified violations. The first of these gas stations eliminated the violations and reopened in early September.

In August 2023, a large fire led to a powerful explosion at a car service and at a neighboring gas station in Makhachkala. 35 people died, and more than a hundred were injured. The tenant of the warehouse near the gas station, where ammonium nitrate was stored, was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison.

In September 2025, the investigation into the criminal case regarding the deaths in the explosion at the gas station in Dagestan was completed. Marat Dzhankhuvatov, the owner of the gas station in Novy Khushet, where 13 people died in the explosion, involved unaccredited specialists in the gas pipeline repair work. The repair was carried out in violation of safety requirements, concluded the investigation.
