The prolonged repair of the street in Nalchik has given rise to criticism of officials.

The repair of the section of Tarchokova Street in Nalchik has been ongoing since last year, with no machinery working on the road, and residents of the area are left without hot water, a local resident complained on social media. Other Nalchik residents, commenting on his complaint, pointed out the delays in the repairs, lack of oversight on the work, and problems with water supply.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", residents of Nalchik periodically complain about problems due to the prolonged road repairs. For instance, on September 18, residents complained that due to the repair of Tarchokova Street, Atajukina Street has become the main detour, but the road there is broken, and there are no sidewalks or lighting.

One of the residents of Nalchik complained about the prolonged repair of Tarchokova Street. His complaint was published by the Instagram*-public goloskbr. According to the Nalchik resident, the work has been ongoing since March of last year, but no machinery is working on site, an entire area has been cut off from normal life, residents are left without hot water, and several times during the summer, water was turned off for whole days.

The author of the complaint urged the relevant ministry of Kabardino-Balkaria, the administration of Nalchik, and other responsible authorities to take action.

This post in the Instagram*-public goloskbr, which has about 193 thousand users, had received 400 likes and 106 comments by 10:20 Moscow time on October 3.

Commenters, identifying themselves as residents of Nalchik, criticized the officials. "This is lawlessness, no doubt! There are several schools, kindergartens, and there is no basic sidewalk. No machinery, no workers are visible, how long will this last? Why is there such disorder and no one is monitoring it?" asked user zxn85_.

"We are collecting signatures for a collective complaint to the prosecutor's office of Kabardino-Balkaria and the Investigative Committee. Maybe then they will start moving?" wrote user my_can_tim.

"This is just a way for the administration and others to make money! It's just mockery of the people. "Elected representatives of the people", why are you just sitting in your chairs? To steal from the budget? You can't even asphalt Tarchokova for a year, we are rolling around in minibuses daily like logs. When all the minibuses break down, they will again decide to raise the fare, strange why the drivers, with their mouths full of water, are banging their cars, although in spring, you see, spare parts became more expensive, but now they don't mind spare parts? Not leaders, but saboteurs," stated user mountainwind2023.

Other commenters pointed out the delays and the actual absence of work on the street. "I agree. All summer the machinery stood still, not a single worker was seen. There is no end or edge to this repair," complained m.e.r.r.i.

"The most interesting thing is that the repairs were supposed to start in August 2025, but they began in April-May 2026. And the deadline is by August 2026. The road is neither completed nor handed over," noted semetskiyyuri.

"I agree with every word! They are mocking the people. They sat all summer, and in autumn remembered that they need to finish. The deadline has long passed. The Mountain area, which was considered one of the best, I don't even know how to call it now. In other countries, bridges can be built in a month. And only here, the poor section of Tarchokova has been under construction for a year," wrote mamino___schastie.

Some residents complained about the communal and domestic consequences of the repairs – lack of hot water, dirt, and inability to move normally around the area. "Regarding hot water. The boiler house is working, supplying hot water to other areas, the disconnection is not related to preventive work. All questions to the contractors, who initially write that all work related to pipes, and therefore with water, has been completed. In the end, it turns out that everything is not so, and here you have a gift, we are sitting in autumn without hot water, super! There will be a recalculation, of course, but for now, we all connected heaters, for those who have them, and electricity tariffs will rise from October 1, I think the recalculation won't catch up with them," wrote olga_dmitrievna_64.

"I'll say more, I can't even throw out the trash, as the trash bins have been moved to the road, and they dug up from the sidewalk to the bin. Tarchokova Street, house 58. We have had no water in our homes since September 22, as we later found out, until October 6. Of course, I understand that after some time it will be beautiful, but I would already like a spectacular completion of the global repair work that has been going on since November 15, 2025," noted aida_atmurzaeva.

On certain sections of Tarchokova Street, the laying of the lower and middle layers of asphalt concrete has been fully completed, and work continues on the installation of the heat pipeline, street lighting networks, landscaping of green areas, and installation of curbs, reported the Ministry of Transport of Kabardino-Balkaria in its channel on MAX.

As part of the major repair of the section of Tarchokova Street from Kirova Street to Golovko Street, the replacement of 212 meters of worn-out heating networks is planned. In this regard, the supply of hot water on Vatutin and Tarchokova Streets was suspended from September 22 to October 6, the administration of Nalchik reported in its channel on MAX.
