The situation with the dilapidated school in Aksai, Dagestan, has led to a criminal case.

After the publication of complaints on social media about the condition of the school in Aksai, the head of the Investigative Committee, Bastrykin, requested a report on the progress of the investigation into the criminal case regarding the improper maintenance of the educational institution. A case has been opened in Dagestan under the article on negligence.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", a parent complained that the school building in the village of Aksai in the Khasavyurt district is dilapidated, the windows in the classrooms are drafty, and due to the lack of water, children cannot even wash their hands after using the toilet. Appeals to the authorities have not yielded results.

Social media reports that the educational institution in the village of Aksai in the Khasavyurt district is in an improper state, including the absence of a gym. Appeals from parents to the authorized bodies have not improved the situation, the information center of the Investigative Committee reported today on its Telegram channel.

The investigative authorities of Dagestan are investigating a criminal case regarding signs of negligence. Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for arrest for up to three months.

Bastrykin instructed the head of the Investigative Committee for Dagestan, Suprun, to present a report on the progress of the criminal case investigation, based on the publication's claims, as well as on the measures being taken to protect children's rights.

The village of Aksai is the largest settlement in the Khasavyurt district, with a population of 11,556 people. The village has two educational organizations, Aksai No. 1 and Aksai No. 2, the administration of the Khasavyurt district reported today on its Telegram channel.

In Aksai School No. 2, 694 children are studying in the 2025-2026 academic year, although it is designed for 350 students. The school consists of four educational buildings, but classes are held only in three buildings: another building, constructed from adobe bricks in 1879, has been declared emergency and closed. Due to a lack of classrooms, two rooms in a storage building have been equipped for labor and music classes.

A land plot has been formed for the construction of a new school, all initial permitting documentation has been prepared, and the design assignment has been agreed upon with the Ministry of Construction and submitted for approval to the Ministry of Education of the region. The administration has appealed to the Ministry of Education to confirm the feasibility of constructing a new educational school for 804 students in the village as part of the state program "Education Development".

The head of the village, Arslan Ismailov, confirmed that the building is emergency and about 200 years old. According to the official, the project for a new school for 850 students was prepared several years ago and submitted to the relevant authorities, the Telegram channel Mash Gor reported.

However, the construction has not yet begun: preliminary estimates indicate that more than one billion rubles are needed to build the new school, which is allegedly not available at the moment. The village head stated that they expect to receive the funds in 2027, but Ismailov did not clarify when, how, or from where.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that residents of Dagestan periodically complain about dilapidated and unsuitable schools. For instance, on September 9, residents of the village of Gyukhrag complained that children are studying in a private house, where they were transferred after the old school was declared emergency. In January 2024, residents of Shynaz reported on classes in a dilapidated and cold building. A local resident, Nigar Shahbanova, noted that children sit in class wearing jackets.
