The residents of Mamedkala were handed the keys to their new homes.

The construction of part of the houses for the residents of the village of Mamedkala, who lost their homes after the devastating flood, was financed by the family of Sara Manakhimova (Jasmin), a singer from Derbent.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", at the end of August, the authorities reported the completion of the construction of houses for the residents of Mamedkala, whose homes were uninhabitable after the flood.

The People's Artist of Dagestan, Jasmin, today handed over the keys to new homes to the residents of the village of Mamedkala, who lost their homes as a result of the devastating flood. The singer and her husband, Ilan Shor, previously allocated 500 million rubles to assist the victims of the natural disaster in Dagestan, as well as to restore the social infrastructure of the region, the administration of the Derbent district informed.

New housing was provided to families in the most urgent need of support. These include large families, single mothers, pensioners, and people with disabilities. In these families, 20 children are being raised, for whom all necessary conditions for comfortable living, development, and education have now been created, the municipality's administration reported on its Telegram channel.

Also, the acting head of Dagestan, Fyodor Shchukin, presented Jasmin with the honorary badge of Dagestan "For Mercy and Benefaction." Shchukin noted that the Jasmin family, which financed the construction of part of the houses in the village of Mamedkala, will also allocate funds to complete the renovation and put into operation a kindergarten in one of the neighborhoods of Kaspiysk.

Sara Manakhimova, performing under the stage name Jasmin, is a representative of the mountain Jews of Derbent. Her father, the honored figure of the Russian Federation Lev Yakovlevich Manakhimov, was the artistic director of the choreographic center for aesthetic education "Pirouette" and the People's Tat Theater, and was an honorary citizen of Derbent. He passed away in 2021.

The residents of Dagestan expressed their gratitude for Jasmin's initiative to help the residents of the affected areas of the republic. "She is one of us, a resident of Derbent, we greatly respected her father. Not everyone can donate such a sum, we are very grateful to Jasmin for this," said a resident of Derbent Guzel to the correspondent of "Caucasian Knot."

"Now many say that Jasmin is using this aid for publicity, pointing out that non-Muslims are helping the residents of the area. But why then did other famous people not provide similar support?" noted a resident of the Derbent district Israfill.

"I didn't even know that Jasmin and her husband provided such huge assistance. Some comment on social media that it shouldn't be accepted from Jews. I specifically searched the internet and found no facts of similar financial support from prominent Dagestani athletes, stars, and other famous people," pointed out Abdurakhman.
