Two fighters from Dagestan were killed in the SVO zone

Sergeant Sergey Musienko and Corporal Islam Magomedov from Kaspiysk were killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have acknowledged at least 2113 military personnel from Dagestan killed there.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by September 11, officials and law enforcement named at least 2111 combatants from Dagestan killed in the combat zone in Ukraine and near the border.

A meeting took place in the city administration of Kaspiysk between the acting head of the city, Arsen Sherifov, and the families of the killed participants of the SVO, the district administration reported on its Telegram channel.

During the meeting, Sherifov presented the families of Sergeant Sergey Musienko and Corporal Islam Magomedov with the "Order of Courage" medals. The ages of the soldiers and details of their biographies were not provided in the officials' message.

Thus, at least 2113 servicemen from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives from the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and law enforcement agencies, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "SVO Statistics: Losses in Southern Russia are Growing".

Earlier, the administration of Kaspiysk reported that Alihan Saidov was killed in the military operation.

Dagestan ranks first among the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District in the number of killed whose names have been officially disclosed by the authorities. Sergey Melikov, who headed Dagestan in February 2022, was the first among the representatives of the authorities to announce that a Russian soldier was killed in Ukraine, acknowledging the death of officer Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov.

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on "Channel One" do not guarantee support from the state for the families of the killed, according to the material from "Caucasian Knot" "Three Comrades Served: How Authorities Deny Benefits to Families of Killed Volunteers", which describes the stories of the killed fighters. "I receive only twelve thousand rubles a month for two minor children as a family of military pensioners," complains the wife of Vasily Shtylun, who received five million rubles from the "Veterans" unit for her husband killed in 2022.
