Fuel limits for transit transport in North Ossetia have been reduced.

Starting from September 8, within the framework of the "Own Region" program, the fuel dispensing limit in North Ossetia for transit transport will be reduced to 20 liters. According to the authorities, fuel and gas prices in the region are lower than in neighboring areas.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", at least eight gas stations in North Ossetia have joined the agreement with the authorities to lower fuel prices. Residents of the republic, commenting on the report from the Ministry of Housing and Utilities, Fuel and Energy of North Ossetia on social media, considered the fuel prices to be not low enough.

To stabilize the fuel situation and, first of all, to ensure fuel for the residents of North Ossetia, the "Own Region" program is in effect in the region, the Ministry of Housing and Utilities, Fuel and Energy of North Ossetia reported today on its Telegram channel.

"Starting tomorrow, limits will be reduced under the program: residents of North and South Ossetia will be allowed up to 50 liters of fuel, and transit transport - up to 20 liters," the ministry's message states.

The agency clarified that the reserves in oil storage facilities today amount to 2,636 tons of gasoline and 1,499 tons of diesel. There are 1,620 tons of gasoline and 3,180 tons of diesel on the road. According to the authorities, due to the implementation of the "Own Region" program, it is possible to keep the price of AI-92 gasoline and propane gas 25% lower than in neighboring regions.

On August 24, the press service of the head and government of the republic reported on the maintenance of fuel dispensing limits in North Ossetia, from 30 to 50 liters, following a cabinet meeting.

"As reported by the Minister of Housing and Utilities, Fuel and Energy, Timur Karaev, fuel supplies to the republic continue. It was proposed to keep the fuel dispensing limits at gas stations the same - from 30 to 50 liters," the message stated.

At that time, the head of the region, Sergey Menyaylo, noted that some gas stations continue to keep prices for AI-92 above 100 rubles per liter, despite the fact that earlier gas station owners committed not to raise prices. In addition, a rise in gas prices has been recorded in the republic. The regional leader ordered a check of gas stations with the involvement of all responsible structures.

"The situation with fuel in the market is complicated. Control cannot be reduced, especially regarding supplies. Continue monitoring to prevent complications. Keep a strict watch on pricing at the gas stations in the republic," Menyaylo stated.
