A contractor from the Volgograd region was killed in the SVO zone.

Private Dmitry Goremykin from the Novoanninsky district was killed in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the special operation, at least 1828 fighters from the Volgograd region have been officially recognized as killed.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by August 13, representatives of the authorities and law enforcement agencies officially recognized at least 1827 fighters from the Volgograd region as killed in Ukraine.

Goremykin was a native of Novoanninsky, a graduate of school No. 4 and an agricultural college, where he received a degree in law, the district administration reported on its page on "VKontakte".

In May 2023, he signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense. He served as a senior rifleman, a sniper in the squad, and then carried out tasks for delivering food and ammunition to the front lines. On August 4, 2026, he was killed near the settlement of Novoeconomicheskoe in the Krasnoarmeysky district of the DPR, when his quad bike hit a mine.

The number of killed fighters from the southern regions of Russia in Ukraine has exceeded 9600

At least 4773 fighters from the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District and 4832 fighters from the Southern Federal District have been officially recognized as killed during the special military operation in Ukraine.

Thus, at least 1828 fighters from the Volgograd region have been officially recognized as killed in the SVO. The "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives of the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District who have been killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and law enforcement agencies, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "SVO Statistics: Losses for Southern Russia are Growing".

Earlier, the administration of the Novoanninsky district reported that Ruslan Aribzhanov was killed in the military operation zone.

Support from the state for the families of the killed fighters is not guaranteed by either state awards, memorial plaques, or appearances on "Channel One", according to the material from the "Caucasian Knot" "Three Comrades Served: How Authorities Deny Benefits to Families of Killed Volunteers", which describes the stories of the killed fighters.
