Krasnodar residents complained to Putin about the construction of a shopping center

Due to the construction of a shopping center, the fire access road has been reduced, storm drains have been dismantled, and there is a problem with the placement of garbage containers, complained the residents of the Krasnodar residential complex "Legenda" in their video appeal to Vladimir Putin.

Several dozen residents of the "Legenda" residential complex on 40th Anniversary of Victory Street in Krasnodar recorded a collective appeal to Vladimir Putin, stating that they could not achieve a solution to the problem from local authorities. They asked the president to initiate an appeal to the court through the prosecutor's office to declare the construction permit for the shopping center invalid, as well as to provide a legal assessment of the actions or inaction of the Krasnodar administration officials. The video appeal was published on August 14 by the Telegram channel "Typodar Krasnodar".

According to the residents, in 2023, public hearings discussed the construction of a one-story building with an area of 936 square meters on this site, which they also opposed. Subsequently, the authors of the appeal claim that a permit for the construction of a shopping center with an area of more than 8,500 square meters was issued without new public hearings.

The residents also stated that on August 8, the developer reduced the width of the fire access road near the houses from six to four meters. According to them, the city storm sewer was previously dismantled, and the site for garbage containers had to be relocated.

"The developer is also effectively taking our fire access road, blocking emergency services' access to our homes," said a woman reading the text of the appeal in the video.

The residents believe that due to the reduced width of the road, fire and rescue vehicles will not be able to approach the houses unobstructed in the event of a major fire.

Another reason for the appeal was the situation with the container site. The residents claim that on August 12, Rospotrebnadzor revoked its approval, but on August 14, workers began to set up the site. According to the residents, the management company did not hold a general meeting of owners regarding its relocation.

As of 06:50 Moscow time on August 15, there are no comments on the Krasnodar administration's website regarding the video appeal of the "Legenda" residents to Vladimir Putin.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that residents of the Yubileiny microdistrict in Krasnodar have long opposed the construction of the Rozhdestvenskaya embankment. In December 2025, they recorded a video appeal to Vladimir Putin asking him to intervene in the situation. In May 2026, the Krasnodar Regional Court refused to accept the claim of activist Vitaly Cherkasov, who challenged the city council's decision related to the territory of the planned construction.
