Teenager detained in Yeysk for car arsons

A minor resident of Yeysk has been detained on suspicion of three car arsons. According to the police, the teenager chose cars with foreign license plates or with Victory symbols, painted symbols of a banned organization in Russia on them, and then set the cars on fire using a flammable mixture.

Employees of the CPD and the Criminal Investigation Department, together with security forces from the regional FSB, detained a 16-year-old resident of Yeysk suspected of a series of car arsons.

It has been established that the teenager, using a flammable mixture, set fire to three foreign cars in Yeysk. The suspect chose cars with foreign license plates or with the symbol of the Great Victory, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Krasnodar Territory reported today on its page on "VKontakte".

The suspect painted banned symbols on the bodies of the cars and left inscriptions on the asphalt nearby, also promoting a banned organization in Russia.

At the teenager's residence, operatives seized mobile phones and computer equipment, banned paraphernalia and symbols, balaclavas, a signal pistol, cold weapons, a plant-based substance, and video cameras with recordings of the arsons he committed earlier.

It has also been established that he previously set fire to another car. The suspect also planned to set fire to two fast-food cafes in the city of Yeysk, the agency adds.

Criminal cases have been initiated under part 2 of article 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Intentional destruction or damage to property". The maximum penalty for this charge is five years of imprisonment. The minor is in custody.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that Krasnodar security forces detained a 34-year-old newcomer from the Pavlovsky district, who was suspected of setting fire to five cars and one scooter. The cars were parked in the yard of a high-rise building on Krasny Partizan Street.
