A resident of Yeysk has been detained for setting fire to electrical substations.

Law enforcement officers in the Krasnodar region detained a local resident who set fire to an electrical substation. During interrogation, the detainee stated that he had set fire to the substation equipment at least twice.

The detained resident of Yeysk is 22 years old; before his arrest, he was monitored by employees of the "E" center and representatives of the FSB. According to law enforcement, the young man "acted on the instructions of foreign curators."

The Yeysk resident managed to set fire to at least one electrical substation: having entered the site at night, he doused the transformer with an incendiary mixture and set it on fire. At the same time, he "recorded the entire process on his mobile phone for subsequent sending to the curators," the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reported today.

The fire alarm at the substation was triggered, and the power grid employees quickly extinguished the flames. Currently, "the electrical substation is operating normally," the agency noted.

In operational video, the detainee, whose face is hidden, states that he set fire to at least two substations based on coordinates given to him by unknown individuals.

"I went to the coordinates on Schmidt Street first. I was told to crawl, find a valve, twist it with a wrench, pour liquid, and set it on fire, filming for a minute. Since I filmed for less than a minute, I was told I needed to go to the second station (...) I was sent coordinates, behind Shcherbinovsky. I bought, I think, eight or nine cans (...) I arrived at Shcherbinovsky, went from Shcherbinovsky past the gas station and all the way to the power station. I climbed over, did all these actions, and set it on fire," he recounts in a recording published by the chp_krasnodar1 community.

The community associated with law enforcement claims that the tasks were given to the Yeysk resident by "Ukrainian curators," although neither the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs nor the detainee mentions Ukraine in the video.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in March, FSB officers detained a young resident of Anapa. According to law enforcement, the young man intended to set fire to a transformer substation supplying electricity to military facilities, sanatorium-resort institutions, and private homes in the city.

At the end of April, a court sentenced four residents of Rostov-on-Don to terms ranging from 13 to 20 years, finding them guilty of setting fire to two transformer substations and attempting to set fire to a main oil pipeline.
