A resident of Nalchik has been fined for discrediting the army.

The court in Nalchik fined local resident Diana Zhaboeva, finding her guilty of discrediting the military.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on March 4, 2022, responsibility for discrediting the armed forces was introduced, since then residents of Russia, including Kabardino-Balkaria, have been prosecuted under the relevant article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. It provides for fines for citizens ranging from 30,000 to 100,000 rubles, and repeated violations within a year threaten criminal prosecution.

According to the case materials, law enforcement officers drew up a protocol on the discrediting of the army against Nalchik resident Diana Zhaboeva, and then sent the materials to court.

The Nalchik city court found Zhaboeva guilty under part 1 of article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation "Discrediting the Armed Forces of Russia" and fined her, as reported in the case card published on the court's website.

The amount of the fine, as well as details of the case against Zhaboeva, are not provided.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that earlier a court in the Chyegem district fined local resident Musa Kuchmenov, finding that a video he posted online discredited the military.
