The increase in fares has caused dissatisfaction among the residents of Abkhazia.

In Abkhazia, the fare for minibuses has been raised to 50 rubles, the authorities reported. Local residents, commenting on social media about the increase in tariffs, noted that prices are rising everywhere in the republic, while salaries remain at the same level. They also complained about poor conditions in minibuses and buses.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on June 20, residents of Sukhum shared on social media that drivers of some minibuses posted a notice in their vehicles about the fare increase to 50 rubles. The authorities of Abkhazia stated that they did not coordinate the increase in tariffs with the carriers.

In Abkhazia, the fare for urban minibuses has been raised to 50 rubles – from July 15 to October 1. The fare for urban buses is up to 20 rubles, reported on July 16 by IA "Apsadgyl-info" citing the Ministry of Economy of the republic.

A post stating that the authorities of Abkhazia agreed with carriers on the fare increase was published by the Instagram*-public chp_abh. Residents of the republic, commenting on this post, doubted that the new prices would be valid only until October 1.

"Temporarily? Until October 1? I can't wait for October 2. Let's see," wrote fata290792.

Commentators linked the fare increase to the issue of salary and pension levels.

Users suggested that along with the fare increase, attention should be paid to the condition of the transport and travel conditions.
