Three soldiers from Dagestan were killed in Ukraine.

Rustam Atayev and two of his fellow countrymen from Kaspiysk were killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have named at least 2,021 combatants from Dagestan killed there.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by June 26, government and security officials officially recognized at least 2,018 fighters from Dagestan as killed in the military operation in Ukraine.

The Kaspiysk administration named three more Dagestan servicemen killed in Ukraine, announcing the presentation of posthumous awards to their relatives.

The dead are Corporal Rustam Atayev and Privates Magomed Magomedov and Ragim Karakhanov. Atayev and Karakhanov were posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, and Magomedov was awarded the Zhukov Medal, according to a post on the municipality's official Telegram channel.

The ages of the killed soldiers and details of their biographies were not provided in the officials' statement.

Thus, at least 2,021 servicemen from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. The "Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially released by government officials and security agencies, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "Northeastern Military District Statistics: Casualties Risen in Southern Russia."

In early June, the Kaspiysk administration named four more servicemen killed in Ukraine: Shamil Magomedov, Nabi Ramazanov, Vasily Sychev, and Rashid Ismailov.

Dagestan ranks first among the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District in the number of those killed whose names have been officially released by the authorities. Sergei Melikov, who led Dagestan in February 2022, was the first government official to announce that a Russian soldier had been killed in Ukraine, acknowledging the death of officer Nurmagomed Gadzimagomedov. Caucasian Knot also reported that 18-year-old Said Murtazaliev from Dagestan was tortured by security forces in the Moscow region to sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense. Commanders in the combat zone forced him to collect money, after which he was declared missing. "I myself was sent to the assault, where comrade 'Spartak' said that an order had been received to erase me," Murtazaliev said in his final video message sent to his mother.
