A fighter from Dagestan was killed in Ukraine.

Ruslan Alimuradov from the Tabasaran region was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, at least 1,926 soldiers from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed.

As reported by Caucasian Knot, by May 11, officials and security forces had recognized at least 1,925 fighters from Dagestan as killed in the military operation in Ukraine.

A memorial plaque to Ruslan Alimuradov, a school graduate who was killed during a special military operation, was unveiled at the Gasik School in the Tabasaran District, the head of the district, Magomed Kurbanov, reported on his Telegram channel on May 11.

Ruslan Alimuradov was born on December 10, 1986, in the village of Kuvag in the Tabasaran District. From 1997 to 2004, he attended Gasik Secondary School and then studied at the Dagestan State Pedagogical University.

In March 2023, Ruslan volunteered for a special military operation, where he was appointed platoon commander in the 35th Army. In April 2024, he was wounded in the Zaporizhzhia region, but after rehabilitation, he returned to his comrades. On June 14, 2025, he was killed near the village of Malinovka in the Zaporizhzhia region. He was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage.

Thus, at least 1,926 servicemen from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.

The number of fighters from southern Russia killed in Ukraine has exceeded 9,100

At least 4,494 fighters from the North Caucasus Federal District and 4,607 from the Southern Federal District have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation in Ukraine.

The "Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus Federal District and the Southern Federal District killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially released by government officials and security agencies, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "North Caucasian Federal District Statistics: Casualties Risen in Southern Russia."

In May, the administration of Dagestan's Tabasaran District reported that Farkhat Tagirov and Aziz Makhmudov had been killed in the North Caucasian Federal District.

Dagestan ranks first among the regions of the North Caucasian Federal District in the number of those killed whose names have been officially released by the authorities. Dagestan's head, Sergei Melikov, was the first government official to announce back in February 2022 that a Russian soldier had been killed in Ukraine, acknowledging the death of officer Nurmagomed Gadzimagomedov.
