Volunteers asked for help cleaning Tuapse beaches.

Volunteers are cleaning up oil spills on beaches far from the center of Tuapse, but they need help. There aren't enough people to clean up, and there aren't enough authorities to remove the oil-soaked pebbles that have already been collected.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," sections of the Black Sea coast near Tuapse contaminated by oil from the local refinery are being cleaned unevenly: active work is being carried out near city infrastructure, but remote and "wild" beaches are being neglected, local residents and volunteers said. A satellite image captured stains in the sea from Shepsi to the port and the city beach of Tuapse. The stains don't necessarily mean an oil slick on the water, but film-like pollution has been recorded there before, according to the "Transparent World" project. Pollution remains on the beaches of Shepsi, the Elektron sports camp, and the village of Novomikhaylovsky. A shortage of volunteers is reported in several places, Telegram users reported.

In Tuapse, on the coast between the villages of Tyumensky and Nebug, they continue to clean up pebbles containing oil products that were dumped on April 25.

"Every day, the Tyumen headquarters cleans the shoreline from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Accommodation, meals, and personal protective equipment are provided," activists write in the "Chronicles of the Spill" Telegram channel, calling on those interested to join.

People from Moscow, Krasnodar, and Sochi are already participating in the cleanup, according to the attached video.

The "My Tuapse" Telegram channel also posted a call for beach cleanups.

Residents and students from School No. 8 in Tuapse came out to clean the beach on Kiseleva Rock on May 9. Half of the beach was cleaned. We invite those interested to participate this weekend. "You need to bring a bucket, gloves, a metal scoop, and bags," one message reads.

In another message, activist Margarita asked for bags of already collected oil products to be removed. "Olginka Beach. Help remove bags of fuel oil. Near Cape Gryaznov and on the wild beach of Agria," she writes.

A video attached to the message says that all the bags have been collected by volunteers and local residents. "One question: why can't the administration remove these bags? "Just a small storm and all this will end up in the water again," she asked.
