Classes in schools and kindergartens in Tuapse have been cancelled following an airstrike.

Classes have been cancelled in Tuapse schools and four kindergartens due to the overnight drone attack, while the remaining kindergartens are operating on a limited schedule. A drone strike damaged transport infrastructure at the seaport.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," last night in the seaport of Tuapse, a man was killed in a drone attack, and another was injured.

Following the drone attack, classes have been canceled in municipal and public schools, the Tuapse District Education Department reported.

The city's municipal and public schools are closed.

"Today, April 20, 2026, municipal and public schools "The city's kindergartens are closed. District schools are operating as usual," Interfax quotes the agency as saying.

Four kindergartens—Nos. 28, 25, 24, and 22—are closed. The city's remaining kindergartens are operating as "on-duty groups," with meals and naps provided for children, the publication notes.

A drone attack damaged transport infrastructure at the port of Tuapse, the Krasnodar Krai Prosecutor's Office reported.

"Transport infrastructure was damaged at the Tuapse seaport. Tuapse Transport Prosecutor Evgeny Zavalin has arrived at the scene. A hotline has been set up at the Krasnodar Krai Prosecutor's Office to promptly receive complaints and provide legal assistance: +7 988-168-33-48," the prosecutor's office said in a Telegram post.

Tuapse's railway infrastructure is undamaged, and train service is operating as normal, Kommersant reports, citing the press service of the North Caucasus Railway.

Tuapse has been repeatedly subjected to aerial attacks. On the night of April 16, a drone attack in Tuapse killed a 14-year-old girl and an adult, and injured seven others. Sixty residential buildings and three public facilities were damaged, and five private homes were completely destroyed. A fire also broke out at the seaport; it was extinguished only on April 19.

Tuapse residents reported that after the attack, "the entire sky was covered in smoke," and the smell of burning was felt throughout the city throughout the day.

On September 24, 2025, two people were killed and 14 others were injured after drone and unmanned boat attacks on Novorossiysk and Tuapse. That day, people were ordered to leave the beaches in Novorossiysk, Tuapse, Gelendzhik, and Sochi, but in Sochi, some vacationers returned to the sea. Social media users called this behavior reckless.

Civilians in the coastal areas of Kuban resorts risk becoming accidental victims in attacks, so the evacuation of vacationers from the beaches was a justified measure, experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" confirmed.

In September 2025, a ban was imposed in the Krasnodar Territory on the dissemination of information about drone attacks and their consequences, as well as on the filming of air defense operations, military installations, and critical infrastructure. In December 2025, Kuban authorities introduced fines for filming aerial attacks and air defense operations. The "Caucasian Knot" published a corresponding regional legislative assembly bill.
