Two soldiers from Dagestan were killed in Ukraine.

Abdulmutelim Ramazanov and Shikh Mekhtiyev from the Tabasaran district were killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have acknowledged at least 1,893 combatants from Dagestan killed there.

The number of fighters from southern Russia killed in Ukraine has exceeded 8,950

As "Caucasian Knot" reported, by April 10, the authorities and security forces had publicly named at least 1,891 fighters from Dagestan killed in the war zone in Ukraine.

The Tabasaran District Administration reported on the handing over of awards to the families of Abdulmutelim Ramazanov and Shikh Mekhtiyev, killed in the military operation, on its Telegram channel.

Abdulmutelim Ramazanov from the village of Pilig was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage. The award was presented to his widow and school-age son. A Suvorov Medal was also presented to the father of serviceman Shikh Mekhtiyev.

The statement did not provide details of the soldiers' biographies or deaths.

Thus, at least 1,893 servicemen from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. The "Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially released by government officials and security agencies, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "NVO Statistics: Losses Mount for Southern Russia."

The last time the death of NVO members from the Tabasaran District was reported was in late March. At that time, authorities reported that Farman Vagabov had been killed in a military operation.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that 18-year-old Said Murtazaliev from Dagestan was tortured by security forces in the Moscow region to sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense. In the combat zone, commanders forced him to collect money, after which the young man was declared missing. "I myself was sent to the assault, where Comrade 'Spartak' said he'd received an order to reset my status," Murtazaliev said in his final video message sent to his mother.

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on Channel One don't guarantee the families of the slain soldiers state support, according to the Caucasian Knot article "Three Comrades Served: How the Authorities Are Depriving the Families of Slain Volunteers of Benefits," which describes the stories of the slain soldiers. "His family was not given any official honors. The military registration and enlistment office said they allegedly didn't even have Sogaz insurance. They allegedly weren't insured...
