On the 500th day of daily protests, demonstrators marched to the Georgian parliament before heading to Easter services, demanding the release of political prisoners.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," supporters of Georgia's European integration, despite the bad weather, gathered outside the parliament building on the 499th day of continuous protests. The march on Saturday, April 11, will mark the 500th day of street protests.

The march participants first gathered at the Philharmonic Hall, where they organized a march to mark 500 days since the protests began and joined the rally participants gathered at the parliament building.

They brought Georgian and European Union flags to the rally site. They also carried a protest banner reading "Strength in Unity," InterPressNews reports.

The protesters walked through the streets of Tbilisi, chanting slogans, according to a video published by Publika.

Today, in connection with Easter, after a march demanding new elections and the release of political prisoners, protesters will head to Kashveti Cathedral. "For the second year in a row, citizens participating in the protests are celebrating Easter with candles in hand on Rustaveli. For the second year in a row, more than 40 prisoners of conscience are celebrating Easter in prison," reports Pirveli TV.

Protesters in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners since November 28, 2024. Security forces have carried out violent dispersals of the protests, using tear gas and water cannons, and have detained protesters. Thousands of people have been subjected to administrative prosecution during the protests.
