At least 4,415 fighters from the North Caucasus Federal District and 4,536 from the Southern Federal District have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation in Ukraine.

Vyacheslav Matsakov was killed in the military operation in Ukraine, and his widow received her husband's award, the Yashkul district administration reported on its Telegram channel. A native of the village of Tsagan-Usn, he served in the marines of the Caspian Flotilla from 2009-2010. From 2016 to 2019, he served in the Moscow special police regiment, and from 2020 to 2023, as a district police officer in the Yashkulsky District. From June 2025, he served under contract in the combat zone. He died on October 15, 2025, according to the district administration.

The death of a fighter from the Yashkulsky District was previously reported in September 2025. At that time, authorities reported that Baatar Pyugenov had been killed in the military operation.

Thus, at least 222 fighters from Kalmykia have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.

The "Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation.
