A protester in Yerevan has been charged with hooliganism.

A criminal case under the article on hooliganism has been opened against activist Mikael Margaryan, who got into an altercation with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan at a rally for relatives of missing servicemen.

A criminal case has been opened against activist Mikael Margaryan, who got into an altercation with Alen Simonyan, under the statute of hooliganism, News.am reported on March 27.

Margaryan is accused of using obscene language live on Demirchyan Street in Yerevan, openly displaying disrespect for society, and ignoring moral norms. A criminal case has been opened under paragraph 3, part 2, Article 297 of the Armenian Criminal Code. 1 .

As a reminder, as of October 2022, 217 people were officially recognized as missing during the 44-day Karabakh War of 2020. According to the Red Cross, approximately 300 people are listed as missing during the hostilities of 2020-2023. In addition, several dozen families disagreed with the results of the examination, which declared their relatives dead - they insist that their loved ones should be included in the list of missing persons.
