A new fire broke out at an oil depot in Tikhoretsk after a drone attack.

A drone attack started a fire at an oil depot in the suburbs of Tikhoretsk. The incident occurred less than two days after a previous fire at the depot was extinguished.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," a drone attack also started a fire at an oil depot in the suburbs of Tikhoretsk on the night of March 12. The fire, which covered 3,800 square meters, was extinguished on the morning of March 13.

In the suburbs of Tikhoretsk, a fire broke out at an oil depot "due to falling UAV debris," the Kuban emergency response headquarters reported on its Telegram channel at 5:10 a.m. Moscow time.

"According to preliminary information, there are no casualties. Emergency and special services are working at the scene," the statement read.

Also, UAV fragments damaged two high-voltage lines in the Tikhoretsk district. "Emergency recovery operations will begin after specialists complete their inspection of the area," the regional task force stated.

As a reminder, after the previous fire at the oil depot, sanitary doctors advised local residents to stay indoors and close their windows. Rospotrebnadzor has detected exceedances of permissible concentrations of harmful substances in the air.

Any fire of this scale poses a threat to human health, ecologist Valery Brinikh previously noted. "The air can contain elevated concentrations of hazardous substances, making it difficult to breathe and potentially damaging the lungs. In this case, there are also all sorts of man-made problems, because diesel fuel and other substances are burning, and the entire periodic table could be involved," he told the "Caucasian Knot" radio station.

According to Transneft, the Tikhoretskaya oil terminal is a key oil transportation hub in southern Russia. It is designed to pump oil through the Tikhoretsk-Novorossiysk-3 main oil pipeline toward the Sheskharis transshipment complex, according to industry publication Neftegaz.ru. According to Transneft, oil is transported through this facility toward Novorossiysk's export terminals for subsequent loading onto tankers.
