The Investigative Committee has ordered a case to be opened regarding the beating of a military operation participant from Pyatigorsk.

The preliminary investigation did not result in a criminal case being opened, but following intervention from Moscow, the investigation will resume.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," Dagestani military personnel in the special operation zone in Ukraine previously recorded a video message to the head of the republic, Sergei Melikov, demanding that road construction begin in the village of Kuba in the Laksky District.

The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, has ordered a criminal investigation into the beating of a participant in the military operation from Stavropol Krai. This occurred following the publication of a video message in which the victim reported an incident in a restaurant in Pyatigorsk in September 2025, according to the agency's Telegram channel. An investigation is being conducted under Article 213 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism). The release specifically emphasizes that the victim had already contacted law enforcement, but the investigation failed to establish all the circumstances of the incident.

According to the publication "Bloknot-Stavropol," police also initiated an "additional forensic examination" based on the combatant's statement.

According to the publication, the suspect is 38-year-old Alexander Samsonov, a veteran of the Ukrainian conflict from Pyatigorsk. In his statement, Samsonov reported being beaten at a friend's birthday party outside a bar in Pyatigorsk. He does not specify the reasons for the conflict, but claims he was attacked after he introduced himself as a participant in the military operation and allegedly suggested they "disperse peacefully." According to Samsonov, he was struck from behind with a metal object and then beaten while lying on the ground. As the bar's administrator later explained to the soldier, the guards were involved in the beating.

Samsonov filed a report with the Pyatigorsk police, but he claims all witnesses were not interviewed, surveillance footage from the bar and neighboring buildings was not seized, and the perpetrators were not identified. The procedural investigation by the Investigative Committee's Pyatigorsk branch, in his opinion, was also carried out perfunctorily.
