Nine fighters from the Rostov region were killed in a military operation.

Andrey Sobolev, Yuri Zolotykh, Maxim Kuznetsov, and six other soldiers were killed in combat. Since the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine, at least 866 soldiers from the Rostov region have been officially recognized as killed.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by February 27, officials and security forces had named at least 857 servicemen from the Rostov region killed in Ukraine.

Andrei Sobolev, Yuri Zolotykh, and Maxim Kuznetsov were killed in a military operation, the Novoshakhtinsk administration announced on its Telegram channel, reporting the transfer of posthumous awards to their families.

In February, city authorities also reported the transfer of posthumous awards to several relatives of other soldiers. Thus, Danil Kalashnikov, Vyacheslav Kalmykov, and Sergei Mukhamedyarov were posthumously awarded orders and medals.

Earlier, city authorities also reported that Alexander Gatitsky, Alexey Shevchenko, and Alexey Tolkachev were killed in the SVO zone.

In February, the Novoshakhtinsk administration reported the posthumous awarding of 11 combatants killed in Ukraine - including Pyotr Galushka, David Avtushenko, Rodion Dubolazov, Sergei Golub, Vladimir Voronkov, Sergei Krasilnikov, Dmitry Tkachenko, Alexey Savelyev, Maxim Apanasenko, Sergei Vystavkin, and Alexey Serdyukov.

Thus, at least 866 soldiers from the Rostov region have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. The Caucasian Knot maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list is based on data officially released by government officials and law enforcement agencies, according to the Caucasian Knot report "North Caucasus Military District Statistics: Casualties Are Growing in Southern Russia."

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on Channel One do not guarantee state support for the families of those killed, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Three Comrades Served: How the Authorities Are Depriving the Families of Killed Volunteers of Benefits," which describes the stories of soldiers from other regions.
