Ramzan Kadyrov's eldest son, who became Deputy Prime Minister of Chechnya in January, has been appointed to oversee the republic's education sector. Akhmat Kadyrov himself has not yet completed higher education.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on January 15, the Chechen parliament approved the appointments of Ramzan Kadyrov's eldest son, Akhmat Kadrov, and Akhmed Dudayev, head of the Chechen Ministry of Nationalities and Information, as deputy prime ministers of the republic. Thus, they both dropped the "acting" prefix from their new positions.

Akhmat Kadyrov Jr. announced his new appointment today on Telegram, noting that his father entrusted him with "overseeing this crucial area." "Education has always been and remains one of the cornerstones of the development of our society and state," he said, commenting on the appointment.

In his new capacity, Kadyrov Jr. reported on a meeting with Chechen Education Minister Khozh-Baudi Daayev. He also held a meeting with the heads of the republic's universities, announcing his father's mandate to the rectors to "improve the quality of all levels of education and science," according to a publication by the official Chechen news agency Grozny-Inform.

Akhmat Kadyrov himself, who oversees education, does not have a completed higher education. In 2022, he was enrolled in the law faculty of the A.A. Kadyrov Chechen State University, where he currently studies, according to his biography on the website of the Chechen Ministry of Sport, which he heads.

In December 2025, it became known that Akhmat Kadyrov donated over 18 million rubles to the families of fire victims. Social media users inquired when he managed to earn such sums.
