A defender of the embankment in the Yubileiny microdistrict held a picket for the resignation of the mayor of Krasnodar.

A Krasnodar resident held a solo picket outside the Western Administrative District administration, demanding the resignation of the city mayor and the reversal of the decision to build a church on the embankment in the Yubileyny microdistrict.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," on January 16, despite protests from residents, the mayor of Krasnodar approved the planning plan for Rozhdestvenskaya Embankment in the Yubileyny microdistrict, where a church is planned to be built. A month earlier, on December 15, 2025, residents of Krasnodar's Yubileyny microdistrict, protesting the embankment development, recorded a video message to Vladimir Putin, but their question was not addressed during the president's direct line. On December 17, 2025, Krasnodar City Duma deputy Aleksandr Safronov was summoned to the police because of this video message; a Krasnodar official filed a denunciation against him.

A solo picket by a Krasnodar resident took place on the morning of January 26th near the Western District Administration building.

The woman held a sign reading, "Naumov resign! No to the construction of a church in the Southern Moscow Region!" Photos of the picketer were published by the "Krasnodar Southern Moscow Region" Telegram channel.

The protest was timed to coincide with public hearings on the Krasnodar Charter, which began today at the District Administration. The charter amendments proposed by City Duma deputies affect, in particular, procedures for the early termination of the mayor's powers, his resignation, and removal from office, RusNews reports.

During the hearings to discuss amendments regarding the election, resignation, and termination of the mayor's powers, residents were invited to submit their proposals, reports 7x7 (listed as foreign agents by the Russian Ministry of Justice).

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in November, opponents of the church's construction in Yubileiny, together with representatives of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, began collecting signatures demanding the resignation of Mayor Yevgeny Naumov.

In September 2024, residents of the Yubileiny microdistrict of Krasnodar protested against the development of Rozhdestvenskaya Embankment, where, according to the city's new general plan, a church was planned. They explained that this was the only major recreation area in the microdistrict. Activists collected signatures for a petition to Governor Veniamin Kondratyev against the development of Rozhdestvenskaya Embankment. More than 3,000 signatures were collected. Activist Vitaly Cherkasov and City Duma Deputy Alexander Safronov were detained while collecting signatures and fined by the court. However, in November, City Duma deputies adopted a new general plan despite protests from residents.

Residents of the neighborhood actively protested the development of the embankment, explaining that it is the only major recreation area in the neighborhood. However, in November 2024, city council deputies adopted a new general plan despite their protests.

Back in December 2021, activists protested against the construction of a new church on the embankment in Krasnodar, and residents of the Yubileiny microdistrict also protested. Embankment defenders believe it is necessary to build educational and leisure facilities for children in the microdistrict. In January 2022, activist Yana Antonova held a solo picket against the transfer of land on the embankment to the Russian Orthodox Church for the construction of a church.
