A teacher from Dagestan was fired from a Krasnodar school after making comments about Russians.

An elderly Dagestani man, who worked as a teacher at a Krasnodar school, was accused of extremism and fired after making statements about Russians. Telegram channels published a video of his apology.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," security forces in Kuban have long used forced public apologies as an additional punishment for those detained for administrative and criminal offenses. For example, in November, a teenager from Krasnodar was forced to apologize on camera for spitting at a police officer, and in July, a Novorossiysk resident publicly apologized for mocking the names of soldiers killed in Ukraine. In March, Krasnodar powerlifter Vladimir Vanyan, detained after making obscene remarks about FSB officers on a live stream, apologized to security forces and stated that he would "serve with arms in hand in the North Caucasus Military District."

Police detained a 60-year-old teacher at a Krasnodar school, suspecting him of inciting hatred or hostility. Law enforcement became interested in the teacher after a social media post alleging that the man "behaved inappropriately during classes."

The teacher was detained by officers from the "E" Center. The author of the post, after which law enforcement began an investigation, claimed that the teacher "humiliated human dignity."

"Officers from the regional headquarters' Center for Combating Extremism quickly identified the man mentioned in the article. He turned out to be a 60-year-old native of one of the neighboring republics, residing in our region. The visitor was taken to the police station for questioning; he will be punished for inciting hatred or hostility," according to a post on the official Kuban police Telegram channel.

The Investigative Committee also expressed interest in the publication: according to its findings, the teacher "made inappropriate and offensive statements about citizens of the Russian Federation during class." Krasnodar investigators have launched an investigation, and the report has been requested by the Investigative Committee's central office in Moscow and personally by Alexander Bastrykin, the agency's press service reported.

Krasnodar authorities, in turn, reported that the teacher had been fired. "The math teacher made unflattering statements about students. A pedagogical investigation is underway at the school. (...) The principal has already held a meeting with parents," the Krasnodar Municipal Administration Telegram channel reported.

The teacher was forced to publicly apologize.

The agency's publication is accompanied by a screenshot of a post on the Telegram channel of Z-blogger and City Duma deputy from the New People party, Sergei Klimov. He claims the incident occurred at School No. 61 in the village of Lenin (part of the Karasunsky inner-city district of Krasnodar), during a sixth-grade algebra lesson.

“Shut up! Everyone says all Russians are pigs!” Klimov quoted the teacher as saying. However, in the audio recording he attached, the statement is different: “A Russian is a pig, everyone says.”

In the recording, the teacher is scolding the students. “Thank you for admitting that you’re a zoo,” he says, among other things. The students are making noise during the lesson, shouting and laughing at the teacher. The teacher continues to scold the student for his behavior in the classroom. “I told you what this world thinks of you. And you don’t want to get out of this, see? You don’t want to get out of this shithole, and you never will,” he says.

The Telegram channel "Morning South" published a video of an apology from an elderly teacher, clarifying his name and personal information – Alijadzhi Magomedov, a native of Dagestan. In the recording, the detained man explains his statements as an "emotional outburst."

"I apologize for my emotional statement regarding the Russian people. I deeply apologize and am prepared to face punishment under the criminal code," he says.
