A contract soldier from the Rostov region was killed in a military operation.

Denis Bezrukov was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have officially acknowledged at least 827 service members from the Rostov region killed there.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by January 8, authorities and security forces had named at least 826 soldiers from the Rostov region killed in the combat zone in Ukraine.

Denis Bezrukov, a 24-year-old resident of the village of Tarasovo-Melovskoye, was killed during the military operation. Bezrukov graduated from the Chertkovsky Multidisciplinary Technical School, specializing in bricklaying and electric welding. He was called up for service on July 7, 2020, soon signed a contract, and participated in combat operations from the beginning of the special military operation. He died on January 1, 2026, the Chertkovsky District Administration reported on its Telegram channel.

At least 4,172 fighters from the North Caucasus Federal District and 4,280 from the Southern Federal District have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation in Ukraine.
