Six fighters from Kabardino-Balkaria were killed in a military operation.

Artur Khashkhozhev, Ruslan Apikov, Martin Baragunov, Renat Gedmishkhov, Beslan Shaov, and Dzhabrail Kulturbaev from the Zolsky district were killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have publicly acknowledged at least 349 soldiers from Kabardino-Balkaria killed there.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by December 16, authorities and security forces officially acknowledged at least 343 soldiers from Kabardino-Balkaria killed in Ukraine.

The Zolsky District Administration announced on its Telegram channel the transfer of state awards to the families of servicemen killed in the military operation.

"In accordance with the decrees of the President of the Russian Federation, the following were posthumously awarded: the Order of Courage – Artur Khashkhozhev, Ruslan Apikov, Martin Baragunov, Renat Gedmishkhov, and Beslan Shaov, and the Suvorov Medal – Dzhabrail Kulturbayev," the administration's statement read.

Thus, at least 349 soldiers from Kabardino-Balkaria have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. Caucasian Knot knows the names of 336 of them, while the deaths of another 13 were revealed in a report by the republic's authorities on payments to the families of those killed in 2022.

Caucasian Knot maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially announced by government officials and law enforcement agencies, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "Statistics of the Central Military District: Losses are growing for the south of Russia".
