So far, Poland fails to grant refugee's status to the Chechen woman whose children died in the mountains

The family from Chechnya, which had lost three daughters in Bieszczady mountains during their illegal crossing of the Ukrainian-Polish border, could not get the refugee's status in Poland, although it had been personally promised to them by Maria Kachinska, wife of the incumbent president of this country.

In September last year, the "Caucasian Knot" informed its readers about the tragedy of Kamisa Dzhabrailova, 36, a refugee from Chechnya who had tried, by using the services of hired guides, to illegally get to Poland with four minor children, of whom three daughters were lost from cold and hunger.

The hospital where the illegal Chechen woman was taken with her small son was visited by Maria Kachinska who assured that Polish authorities were ready to grant Kamisa with refugee's status, should she apply for.

"Now we understand that getting refugee's status in Poland is not so simple," Kamisa said on air of Polish radio "Zapad" (West). "We'd like to go to work. There is no life without work."

However so far, the only issue in relation to the Chechen Dzhabrailov family that Polish authorities are ready to consider in the near future is the issue of granting them social housing.
