A drone threat has been declared in three southern Russian republics.

A drone alert has been issued in Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria, and North Ossetia, and authorities have warned of possible slowdowns in mobile phone service.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on October 22, a drone attack occurred in Dagestan on "one of the republic's enterprises." In Makhachkala, traffic was blocked on a section of Kammayev Street near the train depot. A total of eight drones were shot down in the region. Makhachkala authorities reported no casualties.

A drone alert was issued in Dagestan tonight, effective 12:00 AM Moscow time. The Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the republic urged residents to stay home, confine themselves to windowless, solid-walled buildings, and avoid windows. Possible disruptions to mobile internet service were also reported.

Kabardino-Balkaria's head, Kazbek Kokov, also announced a drone alert in the republic today on his Telegram channel. He also urged vigilance, but also to avoid approaching downed drones and their debris, and to avoid using mobile phones and radios near them. He warned residents of the republic not to take photos or videos of air defense systems in operation and warned of slowdowns in mobile internet service.

A drone attack threat has also been declared in North Ossetia, as reported by the region's head, Sergei Menyailo, on his Telegram channel. He called on his fellow citizens to remain calm and warned of possible slowdowns in mobile phone and internet service.
