A teacher who was present during the beating of a schoolboy in Dagestan has been fired.

A ninth-grader was beaten in the Botlikh district of Dagestan by the older brother of another student. The district administration reported a reconciliation of the parties to the conflict and the dismissal of the elementary school teacher who was present at the fight.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on October 4, the court placed two minor residents of Makhachkala, who were the instigators of a mass brawl between teenagers, under house arrest. The mother of one of them claims that security forces took her son from the hospital. Nine schoolchildren will remain in the Temporary Detention Center for Juvenile Offenders for a month.

A teacher has been fired from the Gagatli rural school in the Botlikh district of Dagestan for failing to intervene in a fight that occurred before his eyes. A conflict broke out between two students, and the older brother, who graduated from the school two years ago, came to defend one of them. The conflict escalated into a brawl, according to a post on the municipal administration's official Telegram channel.

"A young elementary school teacher, hired in September of this year and fired immediately after the incident, was present during the conflict... A reconciliation process was conducted with the involvement of the jamaat. The perpetrators and their parents apologized to the injured party. The conflict has been resolved," the administration's post stated.

Meanwhile, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Dagestan has launched an investigation into the conflict involving a ninth-grader. "Information has been posted on social media that a ninth-grader was beaten by an adult man in the presence of a teacher from a local school," the department stated on its Telegram channel. The investigation will include a legal assessment of "the actions of all those present at the incident, including teachers," the department promised.

It should be noted that a video of a young man beating a ninth-grader has been posted on popular Dagestani public groups. The latter punches and kicks the teenager, who is on all fours, for several minutes. "Good job," comments the person filming the incident.

On the Telegram channel "ChP Dagestan," with 103,900 subscribers, the video has garnered 7,000 views. "Training outdoors. The teacher is the judge. Everything as it should be," one of the public's readers quipped in a comment.

On the Telegram channel "Draft 2.0," with 6,500 subscribers, the video has garnered 1,400 views. "It's surprising that the 'spectators,' be it a local teacher or a smoking rabble, don't break up the fight when it's already perfectly clear who won and who lost," the public page quotes one of its readers as saying.

As a reminder, on May 18, 2025, mass brawls involving teenagers took place in Makhachkala, resulting in the police detaining 67 people, and the Investigative Committee launching an investigation. The Soviet District Court of Makhachkala placed two teenagers who started a fight in the city center under house arrest for two months. 35 parents of the teenagers were held accountable, and the participants in the conflict may be placed on preventive supervision, a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated at a meeting with young people.
