Participants of the rally in Yerevan demanded the release of Karapetyan and the priests.

 Participants in a rally in support of Samvel Karapetyan began a march to the building of the National Security Service of Armenia, where the arrested president of the Tashir Group and clergy are being held. They are holding posters with a photograph of Samvel Karapetyan and flags with the inscription "Mer Dzevov" ("Our Way"), the "Novosti Armenia" agency reports.

The march is led by Samvel Karapetyan's nephew, Narek Karapetyan, coordinator of the "Mer Dzevov" movement and first vice president of the Tashir Group. Family members and relatives of the arrested businessman are in the front row. Demands are being made for the release of political prisoners – Samvel Karapetyan and the clergy – and those gathered are chanting slogans such as "We will fight our way."

Before the march, activists from the "Our Way" movement spoke in Freedom Square. Narek Karapetyan stated that it is necessary to fight poverty and unemployment and have development programs for Armenia. "We must be prepared and go to the elections to remove the Civil Contract from power. We will defend our church. Our struggle will be peaceful but consistent," he declared.

Security forces have been deployed to the National Security Service building and have cordoned it off, News.Am reports.
