Based on the results of three days of voting, 75.02% of voters cast their ballots in the elections of deputies of the Makhachkala City Assembly, United Russia received over 75% of the votes.
As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, on July 13, the Dagestan Electoral Commission reported on 49% of voters who voted in the municipal elections. The main intrigue in the Makhachkala City Assembly elections is whether the New People party will manage to get seats in the parliament, slightly pushing aside the representatives of traditional candidates from United Russia, the Liberal Democratic Party and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, said political scientist and member of the Adam Smith Center Sergei Boyko.
The Dagestan Electoral Commission announced the preliminary results of the first elections of deputies of the Makhachkala City Assembly. According to the commission, 210,229 voters voted at 176 polling stations in the republic's capital over three days.
A total of 280,238 people were on the voter lists by the end of the voting. The turnout in the elections in Makhachkala was thus 75.02%, RIA Dagestan reports with reference to the election commission data.
